Mörkhimmel are fucking underrated. This guitar tone is pulled straight from old school death metal. It's fucking fun. If you're into an old school punkish sound with an Entombed guitar tone, what are you waiting for?
  3. Funeral Oppression - "The Prisoners of Life"
    by Funeral Oppression

In this Stunning Silence... In this Stunning Silence...
Not just an average depressive black metal album. Definitely post-black influences. Good use of synths and great production. Howling vocals over melancholic, melodic guitar tones goes well. "In This Stunning Silence" is definitely the standout here. Give it a go.

About time I supported this album. It's painful that they haven't released any more. The exact genre of this is hard to pinpoint, but let's just say the guitar is varied and catchy, vocals are perfect (we have punkish snarls and low growls), and I can't get enough of these two songs. If there was a full length as quality as this, it'd no doubt be the best album I've ever heard. It doesn't get much better than this. And to think this is free...

This album doesn't let up. Mad pissed off vocals, great riffage, amazing crust punk, it's a crime to not give this a listen if you're into crust.

My favourite outing of theirs, and easily their most accessible. It's fun and sounds like a polished early Gorgoroth record with way more riffs.

My personal favorite black metal record ever. Everything about it is cold. The Gates is the greatest song they ever created.

Amazing, to this day. Spacey synth with metal riffs is the most accurate description.

March The Dead March The Dead
This album gets straight to the point. There's little variety and progression during each song, but when it has such a fun sound you can't complain too much. It's more on the punk side than you would expect. I think the strongest aspect is the snarling vocals. Give it a listen, you may like it!

Gestation Within The Lunar Miasmic Envelope Gestation Within The Lunar Miasmic Envelope
Black/death that sounds pure evil. Aggressive and cold while still sounding powerful, Prosanctus Inferi serve up 8 hellish tracks in an old school, but simultaneously refreshing way. I did enjoy it, but don't see this myself listening to this too much in the future. A great effort, nonetheless.
  29. Makrokosmos

    Ceaseless White Ceaseless White
Lots of ambiance and drowned out vocals really create an atmospheric experience. Definitely my favorite of Petrychor's works, and worth a try for ambient/atmospheric black metal fans. Perfect night time album.

Simply stunning. Simply one of the greatest post-rock albums I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Gloomy, melancholic goodness, each track packs plenty of atmosphere. I can't recommend this enough to any post-rock lovers.
  32. CE QUE DIT LA BOUCHE D'OMBRE
    by PARAMNESIA
    00:00/00:00

Interesting black metal. Both songs are drawn out, chaotic and gloomy. Requires a few listens to get your head around. And PERFECT for long night drives alone.

Pretty solid debut. The album doesn't stray very far from the old school formula, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not the greatest album, but worth a try for OSDM fans.

Interesting and very unique hybrid of thrash, death, and even elements of doom. I found myself really enjoying the vocalist and find his vocal ranges perfect for this technical album. This album gets better with each listen.

I've dug this band for a while, so it's about time I finally purchased this album. It's refreshing to see bands take themselves less seriously, and this bigfoot themed band are kickass musicians who integrate an awesome mix of death and grind into their sound. Worth a listen.

Inserted Vaginal Castration Device Inserted Vaginal Castration Device
Bought this album on a whim after having the band recommended to me. Glad I did, since I am HOOKED. Where to begin? There's layers of technical prowess in here, melody scattered throughout, but I think this album really shines when it gets to some of its guitar work (which at times is breatakingly beautiful) and groove. Not normally my style, but I highly enjoyed it. Truly a gem of an album. I want more!

Quite a decent album, worth a try if you like your death metal chunky and old school. Interested to see what these guys release next.

    Mutants War Mutants War
I'm not big on tech-death, normally it comes off as too much technicality over substance. Yet this album hits all the right notes. Complex, catchy while maintaining brutality, this album is something to behold and would make a great addition to any tech-death collection.
  41. Eye of Wicked Sight

    Alien Intervention Alien Intervention
A damn good album for those interested in death/thrash the old school way. A few memorable tracks, clean production, great riffs, and a refreshing sci-fi theme to boot. Great stuff!
  42. Oceans of Eternity
    by Drowning the Light
    00:00/00:00
The Key Still Not Found The Key Still Not Found
Anyone familiar with this band will know what to expect here. Cold menacing vocals accompanied by a low-fi, but atmospheric production. Worthy of a purchase if you love Azgorh's previous works.
  43. Backyard Butchery

    00:00/00:00
Albert the Geek Albert the Geek
Amazing old school death metal album. Chunky and brutal. Sounds like the soundtrack for a character like Leatherface. Catchy, memorable tracks. Incredible debut, highly recommended for fans of old school. VERY excited for a sophomore album if it can be half as good as the stuff on here.
  44. Curvatures In Time

A worthwhile death metal album. Some killer tracks, tight production and worth a listen.
