    Elli Elli
    Unsuspected algorythm find.
I kinda thought that I won`t hear much wonderfull lyrics like that since "Kid Kopphausen" is no more.
...and than I got the news, that there is a new band with the same kind of those wonderfull vulnerable lyrics I loved so much.

So after the 10th listening through I had to add this.
May all of you have always some money left in the wrinkled parts of your couch for a last eclair.
And if you ever find a Elli in your life, keep her.

  4. Knee-Deep In the North Sea
    by Portico Quartet
There is not much jazz in my life, but there is a huge and loving spott for Portico Quartet.
I like the tendency not to overboard everything with complexety but at the same time remain some sort of fascinating song dynamics.
It is simply fun to listen to... also I like the jazz-use of a hang.
  5. Nightsphere
    by Heretoir
  6. R U Guna Move
    by Venjent
Gotta invest in this allready-classic piece.

WHY DO I LOVE IT SO MUCH?!
  7. Open the Door
    by Venjent
Smoothly transition a creaking door into a pushing killer beat?

Yea Venjent did that just like it's another Wednesday.
  8. Going Nowhere
    by Venjent
    This man is g-o-l-d.

Putting random noise into melodic, wild, fun dnb which I mostly enjoyed that much the last time when Pendulum was a thing.
  9. Inner Universe II
    by Words of Farewell
Yea not sure how I missed on the follow up album after I enjoyed the 2020 release so much.

It just floods in your ear like melodic death metal should and activates the rythmic movement center in your brain to comply.
Also I have to support peeps from NRW! Good fun stuff!
  10. Unter Bronzenen Kronen
    by Waldgeflüster
If you paint with metaphors, you can coun't me in anytime (... and in combination with this cover art!!!).
If you keep delivering musically as well, count me and my money in, because I will not hestitate to spend it.

Even tho I am not familiar with the original songs, I deeply enjoyed the covers by Waldgeflüster.
But I kinda share Lukes oppinion... I wouln't have said no to one or two songs more.
But thats human kind - there is always the wanting and longing for more.

  11. Firewake
    by Zeal and Ardor
As usuall: I don't really like those tiny appetizers because they leave you unsatisfied, longing for more.

But sometimes I just can't resist, because the tiny bits are so damn tasty.
Once I hit play, I immediately got reminded why I love this project so much.
    This sound... just... damn.

    WHERE IS THE NEXT PLATE?!
  12. Fires in the Fall
    by Krigsgrav
The flames dance around you, the only source of light during this evening. The darkness is setting in stronger and stronger with every minute until a certain point, where the shadows start to whisper their stories.

...and they are getting louder and louder - there is no choice, you have to listen until they are done.
  13. L(oo)ping
by Rone with Orchestre National de Lyon
Human (Live with ONL) Human (Live with ONL)
Electronica wise Rone is still one of my all time favourites... the orchestral fusion is just another angle of portraying his musical doings.
It just adds another layer to the songs I really like... the rather uplifting songs sound "wider" like a story which traveled through many centuries.
  14. Forthcoming Humanity (2020)
    by Yovel
YomaBarr said it best: this album is a bit different to listen to, but that's the special thing about conceptual pieces.
I love the Greek spoken words mixed with metal passages. It underlines the content in its message even more.

Take your time and the right moment and this record will reward you with a wonderful sitting.
  15. Barbarians
    by Komodo
    Barbarians Barbarians
Very good friend of mine flinged this into my face and since I started listening, this record was on loop the entire day, which doesn´t happen that often to me.

Vintage psydelic rock´n roll doesn´t do justice to what is happening here. This is more. This is wild.
  16. Du wilde Liebe sei
    by Dornenreich
Dein knöchern' Kosen Dein knöchern' Kosen
An remarkable record as others have pointed it out already.
On the mainstage: a reciting, lyrical whisper, framed by violins, drums, acoustic guitars and e-guitars.
If you come here for black metal, you might be disapointed - this is a new approach on a different musical path.

A worthy interpretation on the topic of love with all its human side effects.
  17. •–•–••
    by Tom Sylva
This is the sound of the first dance performed by a tiny, single pice of fuzz, whirling in soft elegance through the spotlight of a warm morning sunbeam

You are in the first row seat in your bed, barely awake already.
Someone put the mokka can on the stove.
  18. EXPEDITION II : Die Passage
    by Antrisch
For me there are stories which can best be told through the bleak atmosphere of black metal.
For example "Die Grubenmähre" from Dauþuz belongs into this bookshelf. Now there is a new addition to this collection.

Expedition II: Die Passage is a damp chill of sorrow in an everlasting plott of man vs nature.
  19. Altäre der Vergänglichkeit
    by Wrack
I hit play and than I was just stuck... Wrack simply is not the repetetive average black metal. Twists and turns in the song structure just dance around your ears like autumn leafes in the wind.
Therefore you just keep listening, just to see what comes next... a discipline which is rarely mastered in this subgenre.

...honestly, I still can´t really tell what I just whitnessed.

    You better see for yourself.
