    Lone Wolf Lone Wolf
Just when you thought metalcore can't evolve, this is the band that proves to you otherwise. With new melodic fast-paced elements coming from the left and nu metalcore elements from the right, these guys breathe hope back into the metalcore genre.

I managed to buy the CD this time, and I was surprised by how much artwork went into the booklet. It even made me wonder if the pictures were photographs of real sculptures.

If I were to select a favourite track, however, there is a clear winner this time: "Lone Wolf". The uplifting lyrics as well as the abundance of fast-paced parts really makes this song stand out. The guitar melodies are always welcome and the only thing missing is a guitar shred solo.

Instrumentals-wise, I really loved "Pariah" thanks to the fast-paced overall nature as well as the fact that there's a guitar solo in it. The rest of the instrumental really sounded innovative and immersive.

Lyrics-wise, two honourable mentions are "Avalon" and the title track "Deathwatch" thanks to the lyrical themes in them that show you the truth as to what the 21st Century has become. "Deathwatch" specifically has fitting lyrics and instumental that really make this song well-executed. "Avalon" on the other hand, must be praised for its, again, innovative instrumental.

    Defender Defender
Although their other full-length album "Seven" had better lyrics, once you look past them and focus on the instrumental, you get some pulse-pounding fast-paced songs with some really eye-catching guitar melodies combined with a little bit of a breakdown moment here and there.

The most notable track (aside from the lyrics) is "Defender", where the fast parts are combined with both sweet guitar harmonies and inspiring guitar melodies at the same time.

One honorable mention is "Lilith". This track is the first metalcore track I've heard to have a more of a triplet beat than a straight beat, which led to an interesting instrumental. It's also the track I like best lyrically.

Another honorable mention is obviously the title track "Dreamcatchers". The prominence of the fast parts makes this track a prime example of what metalcore is meant to be. It also has a guitar solo, just like the title track of "Seven". If the band were to put more effort into the solos and make them really shred, the future albums would be even more memorable. As for this song, the uplifting lyrics are an added bonus.

"The New Breed" is a more of a slower song, but the way they execute the song is what makes this song really interesting. The compo is actually heart-gripping in its own way and the lyrics on the song are actually interesting and inspiring as well.

    Seven Seven
A breath of fresh air and a great example of orthodox melodic metalcore. Thunder provides the speed combined with sweet harmonised guitar melodies while Seven provides a composition that provides the punch combined with very tasteful melodies that results in a very intriguing sound. Life Breaker falls somewhere inbetween but also has the aggression that is very hard to match and also works as a morale booster. Creeds and the Vultures has a darker sound that takes the definition of metalcore to a whole new level.

Of them all, Seven is the one that sticks out the most due to its most memorable composition.
