    Fade Under Fade Under
Definitely in my top two favorite Germanic folk albums of all time thus far. Combine the epic energy of Sowulo's album "Wurdiz" with the harmony between masculine and feminine found throughout Wardruna's discography, in addition to the primordial mysticism enveloping Heilung's first two albums, and what you ultimately get is this masterpiece by A Tergo Lupi. I already listen to this album regularly and highly look forward to future releases. Here is an album ripe with worhy singles.

  6. Fire in the White Stone (Audiobook)
    by Wolcensmen
Chapter 3: The Woodwose Chapter 3: The Woodwose
A fitting prose companion to the imaginative and memorable Fire in the White Stone. Dan's writing is proof that he has caught the attention of the divine, as the descriptions of his story are strikingly similar to the experiences I've had for years and continue to have, to the point where I got goosebumps. The story, just like the album, embodies the grey area between the recognizable and the unknown, the wilderness and the home. Well done, yet again.
  7. Fórnspeki
    by Vévaki
    Brynhildarljóð Brynhildarljóð
I'm more of a fan of the ominous sound from Edda, but Brynhildarljoth is such a beautiful track that I can't leave a review without mentioning it. Tears filled the corners of my eyes when I first listened to this rendering of Sigrdrifa's (ie Brynhilde's) incantation in celebration of being awoken from her slumber. Such youthful and loving appreciation for the weave of the natural world, despite its "cruelty", is something we've sorely been lacking for decades, if not centuries.

Lorn and Loath Lorn and Loath
Fire in the White Stone is one of the most memorable Germanic folk albums to date, and certainly the most imaginative. Unlike Songs from the Fyrgen, I'd recommend strictly listening to this album in its intended order, for the progression of the sounds and mood will unfold an intriguing yet recognizable narrative in the mind of anyone whose blood was shaped by the forests of Europe so long ago.

    Skjoldmø Skjoldmø
This has to be one of the most underrated Germanic folk albums out there. I only stumbled upon this when perusing genres on Bandcamp, but boy was this a pleasant surprise. The sound conveyed is oddly unique yet familiar in the genre: it's feminine yet foreboding, energetic yet mesmerizing, as if being sung by a Norn or Seer.
  17. HORIZONS
    by Starset
    THE BREACH THE BREACH
I've been listening to Starset since October 2014, and the release of this latest album in another October is a fitting throwback. While every Starset album before Horizons had its own sound, this latest album is a fusion of the best of all those experiments. The familiar excitement, tension, and meaningful lyrics give us yet another stellar performance from Starset, not to mention The Breach is one of the band's best songs to date, right up there with Halo, Carnivore, and Perfect Machine.

Istvan's incredible ability to mix folk music with a sort of experimental soft rock results in a mesmerizing, fluid, abstract, unique, catchy, and exciting sound. Like something between space and earth, spirit and body, his music fluctuates between planes and worlds in a way seldom accomplished.
