This demo blows my mind. Never ceases to mesmerize me. Raw, catchy and riding the line between hypnotism and sheer brutality. The vocals are fucking mental. Black metal that is fresh yet true to its Quebecois roots.
This album is lush and expansive compared to many of the members other projects with nods to Neurosis and Today is the Day. It builds slowly with purpose and can flow from sparse instrumental passages to crushingly heavy climaxes. The atmosphere and deranged moods of Lifelover still shine through on the vocals. Plus theyre great live and awesome guys. 9/10.
This album makes me nostalgic for lives Im not sure I lived. I find myself listening to it peacefully but also when feeling crushed. The black metal influence doesn't overtake the music and amplifies the atmosphere making for a complex journey spanning many different moods
