As a fan and maker of Broken Transmission music, I can honestly say few albums in that genre have grabbed me as much as this one has. This might not only be one of my favorites of 2022, but it very well may be one the greatest Broken Transmission albums of all time. Memory Leak's use of tape manipulation really harkens back to the works of Cameron Day and Ecco Unlimited, but going a step further by collaging various unrelated bits of audio to a supremely surreal and haunting effect.

    grudge grudge
This has to be one of the best VHS Pop albums I've heard and easily my favorite from the extremely talented A R I S T U R T L E. Here soulful samples, jazzy saxes, lo-fi synths and bumpin' beats combine to create a supremely nostalgic, late-night TV soundscape alive with Hip-Hop and R&B flavors. My pick for one of the best Vapor releases of 2021.
  5. WINDOWS 98
    by PALTEO
    INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION
As with the equally excellent Fractal Image, PALTEO's album WINDOWS 98 is a Vaporwave masterpiece melding the haunted lo-fi nostalgia of Signalwave with the dreamy, hypnotic experimentation of Hypnagogic Drift. PALTEO is truly one of the best kept secrets of Vaporwave that deserves to be heard by all.
  6. LUNE DANCE

    WELCOOOME BACK WELCOOOME BACK
Two of Vaporwave's Latin allstars on one album, what more could you want? That opener is especially good, brings me back to my childhood every time.
  7. HAWAII MADISON
    by AIRMAX
    VICE VIXEN VICE VIXEN
Smooth as Jazz VHS Pop with a Hypnagogic chaser. Epson and Channel Select fans should peep this.

    The Donna The Donna
A unique take on the minimalist Computergaze style, Looking Through Sheets perfectly captures the desolate, haunted sounds of empty corridors and spacious chambers of a forgotten gallery.

  15. FRACTAL IMAGE
    by PALTEO
    HI-FI PLAYBACK HI-FI PLAYBACK
A Hypnagogic gem of an album, Fractal Image alternates between synth driven instrumentals, slushy drones, and classic style sampling all to a supremely bittersweet, nostalgic effect. Also the artwork is just gorgeous to look at and really matches the overall sound of the music perfectly, like some soundtrack of an obscure 80's film recorded to worn out VHS and lost to time. There's just about something for every Vapor fan to enjoy here.
  16. Space Rose
    by Rykon
Garden of Sanity Garden of Sanity
Dreamy, celestial Chillsynth from a deeply underrated artist. I'm very pleased to see how much Rykon's musical talents have grown over the years and look forward to whatever they have in store next.
  17. VHS MOSAIC
    by WINDMILL
    INFINITY INFINITY
Cool as ice collection of Late Night Lo-Fi and VHS Pop tracks with a latin flare and videotape aesthetic. One of my fave Windmill releases and one that deserves more attention.
  18. Outlined

    After After
Solid, classic style Late Night Lo-FI that sounds like the soundtrack of an 80's Neo-Noir thriller on VHS.
  19. A MEDIANOCHE
    by PΛCMORWΛVΣ
    Brisa Brisa
A breezy Late Night Lo-Fi gem with a fuzzy Signalwave sound, this album is ideal for cruising the boulevards after dark. Highly recommended!

VHS Pop in its purest form. Totally lives up to the artwork.
