Be Persecuted have somehow changed my perception of Depressive Black Metal. They've made me understand exactly what it means to play in a way that creates genuine despair and profound sadness. They truly manage to tear you apart with abrasive riffs and drenchful melodies that move you viscerally. Listening to this new work after 10 years of staggering silence only confirms my love for them.
There are so many incredibly intense and devastating moments in this record. I am lucky to experience Øjne without needing the translations as we're both italian. The beauty of Italian language with the screamo/post-rock climaxes is simply brain melting and the beauty of the sung words is deeply moving and nostalgic. Mark never stop playing music. You're one of the most underrated artist ever. No need for crystal-clear recordings when you can express pure emotions with radiant raw black metal infused with magnificent and evocative, ultramundane acoustic passages.
