A dark shifting abyss of an album. Flowers for Bodysnatchers is always turning the dark ambient genre on its head and inside out. Such marvellous variation in instrumentation and the ability to create such wonder is second to none. It's both creepy and sinister as well as being hopeful and empowered.

I've been a fan since I first saw these guys playing in Tokyo. Massive walls of gothic oppression wash over you. Their soundscapes are infinite and dark and this is a great retrospective collection. Not the easiest entry point for first time listeners, for that I'd recommend Low Winter Sun. That album is the absolute pinnacle of what they do best. Taking you to a dark, dank and lonely place.

A truly dark industrial space ambience ebbs and flows with this new release from ANIHILA. You feel the isolation and deep cold from the very opening track. The idea that the Soviet Union won the space race of the early 20th century creates a fantastically ominous atmosphere and haunting narrative.

This album possess a painful and haunting beauty that in my mind surpasses the iconic Flowers for Bodysnatchers album Aokigahara. The extremely personal choice a subject matter echoes though the music in the most poignant manner. Even when the songs depart from the melancholic and enter the realm of the electronic and industrial the raw emotion still resonates. Anger, hatred and spite are just as important in this tale as the obvious sorrow. Raw emotion is on full display here...

Immensely haunting and so very true to the subject matter. It is immersed in the frightful reality of the holocaust. Full of hopelessness, sorrow and frantic desperation. It's hard not to be moved by the powerful nature of this album. This is neoclassical dark ambient at its best. Just as you'd expect from Flowers for Bodysnatchers.
