  1. Ulterior Motives
    by Michael Guy Bowman
    Mechanism Mechanism
This feels like the culmination of stylistic and thematic choices Bowman has made in his last few albums - Alternating rock, electronic, and hyperpop influences make each song stand out, while themes in the lyrics tie them together. Listen for fun spy stuff, inevitability of love despite weariness of lovers, and spiritual allusions. I adore this album!

    Night Terrors Night Terrors
Bowman's catchiest album yet is already stuck in my head after two days! Not only is it catchy, but it strikes a welcome balance between the sparser instrumentation style of Electric Daydreams and the dense, "wall-of-synths" style found in his early work. A few songs are built around cliches (potentially a choice that furthers the theme of the album), but inside they retain that lyrical spark that makes us love Bowman. This album is a great starting point if you are unfamiliar with him!

I'm Seeing Everything I'm Seeing Everything
The lyrics really shine this time around! (Not that they ever didn't.) I'm Seeing Everything has a lot to think about on a literal and figurative level. Each song really stands out and has something to make it special. Many of these tracks have a different feel from previous albums, so it is nice to have some more mellower songs and hear a different side of Bowman's voice. Great album! : )
