Superheater is one of the most melodic noise rock trios I have seen in the Twin Cities. Like a much speedier Cherubs, their sound is unhinged, yet pop-like and accessible. The sum of its parts is fantastic. Rumbling, distorted bass plays underneath shiny, yet gritty, guitar fills while propelled by urgent, riffy drums. My favorite track is Shiner. It lurches about like a sad, drunken, circus clown that eventually gets blown out of the big cannon (Heatvision- the next tune) during the finale.

I got this when it came out in 2006, and loved it. I am happy it is on Bandcamp now. I love the heavy bass lines and morose and haunting vocals. This is for fans of Joy Division and early Cure with a foot firmly in the mid 2000's revival of the sound a la Interpol. Definitely their own thing though, and interesting it comes from Atlanta! Who knew something this cold wave could come from such a steamy place.
