I am a lifetime listener and admirer of sounds. The Bay Area is a place I call home and Drum & Bass is at the core of my musical adventures.

Mike asked me to work on this incredible DIY record a few days after I broke my arm in a freeway motorcycle accident. I connected with the music in a way that not even Road Rash, one-handed ProTools operation and a bootlegged bedroom mixing environment can discourage. These songs will be with me indefinitely.

To me, this album reads like a story. It's the memorialization of personal experience through rhythm and texture. The city ambiance and poetry laced throughout paint a mental picture and provide context for the abstraction of Kjell's musical expression. This record will be in my collection forever.

There is something really unique about this album and not just in the sheer display of skill from a technical recording and musical standpoint. I have a dedicated space in my mind for absurdity to occupy and this album just sits there and doesn't leave. There are days when I can't get some of the melodic themes out of my head and I have to go back and re-listen to the album again. The Slugbug is real folks.
