Essential Masterpiece of Modern Black Metal. I only like long tracks if they are well-structured and dont get boring, which is pretty much the case with this album. passionate and powerful. Should be mentioned every time people talk about "hipster black metal" as Hope Drone are much better than the average Band in that field.
Simply breathtaking, a great musical effort. Mur's Transition between mood and genres is very fluent and his perspective on Folk, Drone and Black Metal fits my taste perfectly. While the recordings are all kinda raw and selfmade, it remains transparent and tangible. Given the general interest on folky "Cascadian Black Metal", this should reach a much bigger audience, though Mur is for sure not the average "Metal" Project.
My AOTY 2016. Somewhere between garage, indie and pop-punk, Tancred gives you 11 Killer Tracks that are not as simply as they may seem on the first view; there is a lot of thought behind every chord and every word, yet it remains simple and catchy. And by catchy I mean that I found myself singing in my kitchen way to often. Jess is a true Artist that wants to be heard, and "Out of the Garden" is her very convincing argument.
A raw bedroom project with the expectable sound, though its not on the level of sound-mush. Somewhere between Raw Atmospheric Metal and so called "DSBM", Moonknight brings you a respectable vision of loneliness, despair and depression. Guitar tone is fuzzy, songs are slow, and the title track is beyond fantastic.
The best the melting pot of "cascadian black metal"has to offer.its neither folk with metal influences nor black metal with folk elements, but something unique in between the lines, very poetic, but raw produced music, sometimes calm, sometimes loud as a storm. this album leaves all similar works far behind in terms of quality and authenticity.
sometimes melodic and emotional, sometimes more chaotic and orchid-ish, lost boys created a nnice mixture of all things cool in the field of screamo/skramz/indie .i really relate to this fine piece of music because I had the pleasure of traveling with these dudes.
both extremely emotional but also extremely bone-breaking. adds to the list of bands who prove that emo-violence sends pseudo-evil black metal elitists back to kindergarten. great band, be sure to check out their other projects (henry fonda, ancst)
very thrilling "blackened death metal", in this case it means dark melodies, crushing blastbeats, atmospheric riffs, tons of heaviness, a little bit of crust influence, and a superb mix (drumsound is awesome).
