  1. Cloak of Ash
    by Hope Drone
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Every End Is Fated In Its Beginning Every End Is Fated In Its Beginning
Essential Masterpiece of Modern Black Metal. I only like long tracks if they have aree well-structured and dont get boring, which is pretty much the case with this album. passionate and powerful. Should be mentioned every time people talk about "hipster black metal" as Hope Drone are much better than the average Band in that field.
  2. Circle Thinking
    by I Hate Sex
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    San Francisco San Francisco
i very much relate to this fine piece of music. an emotional, sad and melancholic record that still captures some kind of uplifting vibe to me. another proof that newer screamo is still impressing
  3. STAEDTER
    by WØLFENSTEIN
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Hollow Hollow
this album shifts from anger and agression to sadness and melancholy, always following the main theme of isolation in a city.
  4. Athabasca
    by Mur
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
Athabasca (A Calf Is Culled) Athabasca (A Calf Is Culled)
Simply breathtaking, a great musical effort. Mur's Transition between mood and genres is very fluent and his perspective on Folk, Drone and Black Metal fits my taste perfectly. While the recordings are all kinda raw and selfmade, it remains transparent and tangible. Given the general interest on folky "Cascadian Black Metal", this should reach a much bigger audience, though Mur is for sure not the average "Metal" Project.
  5. Out of the Garden
    by Tancred
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Sell My Head Sell My Head
My AOTY 2016. Somewhere between garage, indie and pop-punk, Tancred gives you 11 Killer Tracks that are not as simply as they may seem on the first view; there is a lot of thought behind every chord and every word, yet it remains simple and catchy. And by catchy I mean that I found myself singing in my kitchen way to often. Jess is a true Artist that wants to be heard, and "Out of the Garden" is her very convincing argument.
  6. Demo 2014
    by Jeanne
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    1/4 1/4
great screamo. like reaaaly loud and in yer face.
  7. Valinor
    by MOONKNIGHT
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Valinor Valinor
A raw bedroom project with the expectable sound, though its not on the level of sound-mush. Somewhere between Raw Atmospheric Metal and so called "DSBM", Moonknight brings you a respectable vision of loneliness, despair and depression. Guitar tone is fuzzy, songs are slow, and the title track is beyond fantastic.
  8. Population Control
    by Amygdala
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
    Wandering Eyes Wandering Eyes
Amygdala crafted some unique screamo (also some metal influences here and there) with different emotional elements and a touching message. Angry, sad, but also powerful and uplifting.
  9. Heartworn
    by Mur
    featured track 00:00/00:00
Hollow Bones In The Millstone Hollow Bones In The Millstone
The best the melting pot of "cascadian black metal"has to offer.its neither folk with metal influences nor black metal with folk elements, but something unique in between the lines, very poetic, but raw produced music, sometimes calm, sometimes loud as a storm. this album leaves all similar works far behind in terms of quality and authenticity.
  10. De Överjordiska
    by Svarti Loghin
    favorite track 00:00/00:00
Ascension To The Stars II (Leaving This World Behind) Ascension To The Stars II (Leaving This World Behind)
Somewhere between Psychedelic Ambient and Black Metal. Production is raw but transparent. If you liked Dimmu Borgirs "For all Tid" and can handle some Ulver-style psych-folk, go get this.
  11. s/t
    by Lost Boys
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    fraunhofer insel fraunhofer insel
sometimes melodic and emotional, sometimes more chaotic and orchid-ish, lost boys created a nnice mixture of all things cool in the field of screamo/skramz/indie .i really relate to this fine piece of music because I had the pleasure of traveling with these dudes.
