I love the diversity of styles and emotions across Over the Top's tracklist so much that naming one favourite track is hardly possible -- adventure, melancholy, redemption, mystery, the warmth of home, and the light of hope; everything gets a turn and it all sounds so damn good.

Even more than any of the other TWRP albums, Return to Wherever truly takes you to another place, another time -- and this one is a place and time where I wish I could stay forever.

I didn't know I could appreciate the soundtrack that so powerfully illustrates the setting of Risk of Rain even more than I already did, until I took an absolutely fascinating read through the annotated sheet music included with the album purchase. Realising just how much of each piece is built from the motifs and structures of others, so that the narrative is even present in the music, was a profound, and profoundly enjoyable, experience.
