These bluesy licks, distant riffs, and Demarco-esque chords and energy that Max Donahue create in this s/t EP take you to a place that is as sentimental as it as hopeful. Short, sweet, and lively; "Max Donahue" begs repeated listens and rewards them with hazy 2 AM summertime "Oh if she had me"s that are probably still recorded in her voicemail. Contrasted with the equally sobering "you're that little bit of weakness that keeps me feeling oh so young when you're inside" lyric in "Grand National", this Inland Empire native band leaves us with a great first impression.
