So psyched been searching for and finally found a digital copy from one of my favorite local bands from way back when. The Mercurial cd was quite possibly one of my top 10 of all time favorite cds. I don't think these guys realized just how epic they were. In all my years collecting music and now broadcasting I have listened to endless hours of local bands. I always listen to any cd I get because there is no telling when the next huge band is just getting their start and you're in on the ground floor. These guys were so different. Such a mature polished sound and they absolutely sound like no other band I've ever heard. Big part of that was the unusual vocal talents of Chris Sanchez. He could get his vocals to an almost cartoon sounding pitch. No this isn't a chipmunks cd his "normal" singing voice is steady and strong and always on key. Go to band camp and look up The Mercurial. Any band that sings of Sloths VS Platypus or Pirates and Cowboys has gotta peak your interest no. Maybe a Headless Disco. Good bad or indifferent this cd is sure to leave a lasting impression.
