I couldn't imagine any record living up to the very high bar set by boygenius' self-titled EP. And yet, the record is that record. Baker, Bridges, and Dacus's pen game is stronger than ever. Their songs are short stories, tales of flawed narrators and wounded hearts. They have a deft understanding of the ebbs and flows of an album. I'll be listening to this one for years to come.
