  1. Wake of a Nation (EP)
    by Zeal and Ardor
    Tuskegee Tuskegee
Zeal & Ardor contributed largely to my education on racism. It was this music that made me understand what People of Colour have had to endure - and still have to endure up to this day. It was also this music that helped me through the anger accompanying the first weeks of the BLM riots.
I can't be anything but grateful for what Manuel taught me by his music: Righteous anger, a healthy dose of insubordinance and anarchism, and the will to endure.
  2. Run
    by Zeal and Ardor
  3. The Umbra Report
    by Cities Last Broadcast
Wherever the Heart Goes Wherever the Heart Goes
Once again, Pär Boström makes his tapes come alive to sing their songs for us. An eerie, enigmatic, but also oddly soothing journey.
    Thank you.
  4. Sádon - Shadow
    by SÁDON & TREHA SEKTORI
Singing calms down all anxieties. It empties one's head of all pointless thoughts. And it helps connecting with the great everything.
  5. Thronal
    by KAMMARHEIT
Now Golden, Now Dark Now Golden, Now Dark
This one has a heavy and gargantuan feel to it, heavier than all previous Kammarheit releases. Each track like a massive block of iron and stone.
  6. Without Blood The Sun Darkens
    by øjeRum
  7. Andarlīh
    by Hymnambulae
    Súmbolon Súmbolon
When you close your eyes and let go, you can see the subterranean church. You can smell the incense and the candle wax. And then you have this very special feeling of sublimity, peace, and "otherworldlyness".
The capacity of this duo to evoke that feeling steadily grows with every release.
  8. Echo
    by Apocryphos, Kammarheit, Atrium Carceri
All Dreams Mined All Dreams Mined
This one evokes an intense "The Road"-ish feeling. Great if you want a (post-)apocalyptic atmosphere.
  9. Black Stage of Night
by Atrium Carceri & Cities Last Broadcast
The Great Order of Things The Great Order of Things
Even better than the first release of the Black series, probably due to the mystic, spiritual quality that has been added.
  10. Nausikaa
    by Hymnambulae
Ty Han Den Döde Ty Han Den Döde
  11. The Lunar Lexicon
    by Aindulmedir
The Lunar Lexicon The Lunar Lexicon
There is so much solace and peace in everything this man offers to the world. Sometimes his music is the only thing to calm me down again. A remedy for the soul.
  12. Everywhere at the end of time
    by The Caretaker
  13. Her Quiet Garden
    by Teahouse Radio
The elsewhere sleep The elsewhere sleep
Haunting, warm, hypnotic, and strangely familiar. As someone who loves his cat dearly, I'm deeply moved by this album.
  14. Aokigahara
    by Flowers for Bodysnatchers
    Kuroi Jukai Kuroi Jukai
  15. In Maidjan LIVE
    by Heilung
  16. Miles to Midnight
by Atrium Carceri, Cities Last Broadcast, God Body Disconnect
Quiet Days On Earth Quiet Days On Earth
Love the titles and the storytelling of this one.
  17. Black Corner Den
by Atrium Carceri & Cities Last Broadcast
A Deeper Dream A Deeper Dream
Another release evoking intense feelings of dreaminess and nostalgia.
