  1. Ayahuasca Ataraxia
    by Aeri Satur
    Árvores Etéreas Árvores Etéreas
Really interesting blend of genres, personally I've not heard anything quite like it before, but it works really well. I'm completely mesmerized.
  2. Obsidian Cariatide
    by The Unsightly Deep
Through Vaikunth, Unto Kailash Through Vaikunth, Unto Kailash
This is a very cool, tasty appetizer. Hopefully more to come in the future?
Love the occasional sneak attacks by the bass, and some of the shredding is reminiscent of Phil Tougas of Chtheilist. Also that finisher right before the ambient part is just awesome as hell.
  3. Dream Of A Manikin
    by Daedalia
Into The Somniferous Vortex Into The Somniferous Vortex
Need more weird black metal in your life? Then you need this.
This third song in particular is awesome.
  4. RAILS EP
    by RAILS
    NASCENT NASCENT
Really sick sludgy metal with a bit of incorporation of noise (which reminds me of Worn Mantle, only less exhausting), and judging from the amount of people here, evidently far too few have heard it!
  5. Eclipsed Beneath Umbral Divine

  6. Split Formations And Infinite Mania

Split Formations and Infinite Mania Split Formations and Infinite Mania
Ben's album from last year absolutely blew me away with its genuine creativity. Absolutely demented death metal vortex.
This new one is gonna be amazing, no doubt. And the new direction for the artwork is the most fitting yet for the music.
  7. The Mother
    by Verwoed
    The Child The Child
Innovative, warm and thoughtful (but that's not to say "positive vibes" or "easy listening") black metal, primarily mid-tempo, with awesome songwriting, lyrics, production and of course artwork.
There's a motif shared between the songs that ties it all together nicely. Very much recommended, this album is FIRE.
  8. De Val
    by Verwoed
Verder van het Licht Verder van het Licht
This black metal band from the Netherlands knows how to create some very interesting atmospheres, both bleak and gentle. Well-written songs too.
Also I personally liked the unexpected, almost Rush-like vocals at the end. Looking forward to the new album!
  9. Black Terror Genesis
    by Sacrificial Vein
Throne of Perversion Throne of Perversion
    Yeah, what everyone else said.
Insanely impressive and unique dissonant bm, and somehow this is a debut?
Well done Sacrificial Vein and thanks TDW. And yeah name-your-price for this is a total crime.
  10. Giygas
    by Giygas
Hymn of the Cosmic Destroyer Hymn of the Cosmic Destroyer
Black metal with good songwriting, occasional grooves and a touch of weird. A tribute to the Embodiment of Evil himself.
"You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas' music!"
  11. Malcontent
    by Wytchfilth
    No Bliss No Bliss
Well look what I found. Industrial-tinged slightly trippy black metal, by the same guy as Abyssidious. Very cool.

  14. Chance Encounter of Flesh and Nail
    by Cloven
    No Savior No Savior
Instead of the overbearing sound that black metal typically should be, this holds back just the right amount and it pays off. Kind of like that album art, which is what initially drew me in. Quite nuanced too, and agreed about the great pacing.
  15. Emergent
    by AUTARKH
    Duhkha Duhkha
Increasingly intriguing follow-up to their debut, this one took a couple listens to convince me but now I love it. Continuing with the clockwork-like and ethereal approach, but far more experimental. And the mood swings here are WILD, which I'm totally down for. I love not knowing what emotion I should be feeling.
Nice callback to Dodecahedron in the final track too.
  16. Шум небытия
    by Leprous Vortex Sun
    Yes, I'm here Yoma!

Absolute insanity dredged up from the deepest darkest abyssal depths. As bleak as it is, it's the kind of music that makes me feel truly alive.
Fans of everything dissonant and awesome, you're seriously missing out if you've not checked this out!
  17. Astral Abstractions
    by Sjálfsmorð af Gáleysi
Beyond the Great Beyond Beyond the Great Beyond
So what's up with Iceland having insanely cool shit like this?
