This album builds on the best aspects of WTLs work since Bluebird EP: murky acousticality, elusive sense(s) of acoustic space, aesthetics of brokenness, and sonic architectures of abandoned places. The many sounds of "Doghouse" reflect an encyclopedic knowledge of the early years of American folk music. The multiple personalities of WTLs vocals follow in the fleeting footsteps of Seeger, Guthrie, and Dylan alike, and the grain of the recordings paint a bucolic picture of alternative America.
