Everything this dude touches turns to the blackest gold. It's fascinating to listen to Lorn adopting a cleaner production style than on Maze To Nowhere, but still keeping the vibe as dark, heavy and haunting as ever.

If Tangerine Dream and Boards Of Canada had collaborated on the score to a lost Jorodowski film, it might have sounded very much like this.

That the soundtrack in question is actually that of a modestly kickstarted independent video game, and was composed by just one man makes the whole thing all the more impressive.

Stunningly beautiful and emotionally complex. Vreeland's output is more ambitious and more accomplished than ever before here.

    Quiet Crimes Quiet Crimes
Had the privilege of hearing this a while before it finally got released. Has to rank as one of my favourite releases of this year. Plumbs depths few other industrial artists are doing right now. This is deeply personal, introspective stuff, but it'll still make you dance your ass off and sing your lungs and heart out. Inventive, captivating and heartfelt.

Ghosts - Comaduster Ghosts - Comaduster
I find remix albums by and large to pale in comparison to their respective originals - Not here. This feels less an album, more a manifesto for industrial music's current sound, as presented by some of the genre's current leading lights.
Although the production styles vary wildly (compare Comaduster's melancholy hi-fi futurism on Ghosts to Blush Response's brutal modular synth assault on Echogenetic), there is most definitely a unified aesthetic at play here. HIGHLY recommended.
  26. I Told You Not To Listen Tonight Didn't I?
    by Alter Der Ruine
    00:00/00:00
Sweaty Hands On A Cold Head Sweaty Hands On A Cold Head
Don't be fooled by the fact these are just 'demos'. There are some damn fine songs in here. Covering a wide sonic palette - everything from electroclash to industrial rock to 70s sleaze is thrown in the mix and the results are heady, unpredictable and a ton of fun.
The perfect hold-over until ADR drop I Will Remember It All Differently soon!

altitude feat. comaduster altitude feat. comaduster
Daniel Myer continues to produce some of the most thoughtful and emotive tracks in electronic music. For the most part, this is a moody, pensive sounding release. However, the mother of all curveballs is thrown right at the end, with the seminal Altitude, featuring a stunning vocal track from Réal Cardinal of Comaduster fame. Powerful, heartbreaking stuff.

If only because it seems to send the 'TR00 INDVSTRIAL' types into a frothing, seething rage for no reason other than it's daring to be progressive. Helps that it's a fucking good album full of catchy hooks and solid production.
