Any album with a drum filled Yagami Junko remix has to be good right? This album is just plain FUN to listen to. Each title is a mini-story, and visualizes something foreign to you, a culture or a feeling. Seems like future funk artists like to use love as the theme for the genre, and seem so focuses on such that they lose the grip on the music. Android Apartment has again proven they know how to make a story and a song.

    Rock Pool Rock Pool
The search for where the hell Cate has been putting her music has come to an end. In all seriousness Cate le Bon is changing her style from psychedelic folk to a neo-art pop/neo-psychedelic hybrid that confuses and intrigues the mind. This release might be small, but a continuation of Crab Day's style. Cate has learned a lot from DRINKS it seems and she's bringing it right to her main audience. Excellent release that spoiled me by being so close to Crab Day.

The Gerent of Gastonia comes back for another album a year after Mortimer Swaggleston shook the Nerdcore fanbase. Cheesy lyrics and catchy beats adorn this album, along with satirical tracks such as "Thank you Monsanto" and "I'm a Girl". Further perfecting his sub genre of Nerdcore now known as "Banking", his mixture of Marching, Polka, Rap, and Electric, this album has more varying sounds in just 26 tracks than most artists can produce in their lifetime.

Absolutely hip shaking, head banging, and loud car singing of an album. Deep bass contrasted with great highs of the singers gives this album a feeling of balance. Couldn't imagine another album to introduce to a future-futurefunk fan.

So In Love With You So In Love With You
    Aeon Member Gets It Right.
The things that made future-funk fun to listen to at the beginning was the feeling of exoticness to it. No idea of the songs being sampled or how the artist merged their track with the original. I finally felt that old feeling listening to That Special, Funky Feeling. It pains me that I must pick a favorite track on Bandcamp cause I'd recommend the entire thing.

    Two Star Two Star
It's hard to talk about why I love this album, it might be because it was the first album found while searching for futurefunk on bandcamp, or maybe because it was the soundtrack to my life for the first month i listened to it. No matter the reason it strikes a real nostalgic place in my heart to hear the opening to Kong's Night Out, or driving in the rain to Odaiba Love Story. Each song is a story that plays out in my head as i listen. Each listen through of the album fills me with creativity.

World Tour (ft. SUPERSEX 420) World Tour (ft. SUPERSEX 420)
Goodnight Aloe Island feels like a natural conclusion to the Aloe Island Tetralogy, including Aloe Island Adventures. Unfortunately I felt the only noteworthy tracks were ones with collaborators, i.e. World Tour, Cruise With You, Through the Night. All in all, a good album that leaves you wanting more of the old, and sad that you wont get any.

    Honey Honey
If you've googled Future-Funk, you've probably heard Honey somewhere, Artzie Music's upload I'm referring to. Yung Bae multiplies the funk in this two single release. Put the first track on repeat and get ready to Boogie Oogie Oogie.

    by OSCOB
I could type about the mix and how much I like it, but I was far too distracted with the fact that OSCOB put jawbreakers in the package containing the cassette. And I spent the next hour eating them no matter how much I was told not to eat candy from strangers.
  37. if i'm aware of how painfully generic this is, does that make it meta? (pshaw)
    by trendy dog with sunglasses
    00:00/00:00
Much like the Indie Pop I'd listen to in High School, this track in specific felt facetious in good ways. What sounds like a diary entry turns into a cutesy smiley song with the help of the instrumental, which I feel are superior to anything released yet. Can't help but be reminded of albums Joe Chiccarelli produced after listening to this, might dust off my music folder and give some old bands a listen.

    My favourite release so far.
  38. oh i'm pretty worried
    by trendy dog with sunglasses
    00:00/00:00
I generally listen to very little acoustic music, a personal prejudice that equates it with laziness, but the imagery just one instrument can conjure with flicks of the finger is amazing, gave my view some shape.

I especially like this song not for the lyrics, but they way they're said, brings me back to a specific time in my life hearing someone say almost these exact words.

"Relatable" isn't the right word for this song, so I'll go with "true".

Am excited for more songs though, keep it up.

  39. here's a doozy
    by trendy dog with sunglasses
    00:00/00:00
    surprisingly surprisingly
Lyrically on par with any band I claim to be an impact on me, but no such relatable grip is apparent. The first two track's lyrics felt like poetry that just happened to have melody, both distracting me from the other, unable to enjoy both fully.

Something about "surprisingly" though, I can't really put a finger on why I enjoy this song so much, other than it felt inspired from general emotion than strict personal feelings.

Am excited for more songs though, keep it up.
