    by Space Cassette
Wonderfully chill electronic music, that isn't just the usual cookie cutter synthwave fayre. SpaceCassette has a unique sound of their own and this should be regarded as one of the defining albums of the synthwave/retrowave/chillwave genre, it's that good!

  3. The slow dying of the Great Barrier Reef
    by Bismuth

This is what you get when you take lots of metal influences and you distill them in a country off the usual beaten metal track.

If you think the teutonic tongue works well in metal, the Maori tongue was invented for use in metal vocals! It just sounds brutal!

Stunning band, stunning music. Took a shot on this now I can't wait to get the next album.

  6. And Then There Were None
    by LIVLØS
If you like music that will kick your arse from one side of the room to the other with no compassion, get this now.

I've been looking for something in the extreme metal genre for a while that had a solid consistent sound, no silly bells and whistles attached.

Been a long time since I found a metal band that just lay it down so heavy and consistent from beginning to end.
  7. The World Inside
    by Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster
    Apocryphal Apocryphal
Waited months, had it on pre-order and it's been worth the wait! Absolutely stunning piece of work from a band at the top of their game. Last time I head anything this good was when I first heard Liquid Tension Experiment abut 15 years ago.

Machinations and Apocryphal are stand outs for me, the stunning bass/drums and subtle ebow sounds in Machinations and the brutality of Apocryphal show the huge range these guys have. They should be extremely proud of what they've produced.
  8. Machinations
    by Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster
Brutal and expansive track, hints of Ozric but taken up a notch in heaviness. It just pummels you from beginning to end and just as the track is about finish the blows come raining down one last time.
