I've literally never bought a recording so fast. Hainbach's work with test equipment has been amazing to watch, and these upbeat, moody, dance-adjacent tracks are some of the most interesting recordings I've heard all year. Do yourself a favor and add this to your collection.
Barely beneath the surface of the raw power and cacophony of these songs, there is so much beauty. Just enough roughness around the edges to keep things interesting, but polished and approachable where it counts. Put on some headphones and feel yourself surrounded; this is an excellent recording of a fascinating band.
Despite the unsavory news that surrounded its release, I believe this album stands on its own as the band's best work by far. The lyrics, melodies, and sonics here are truly special, and have resonated deeply with me since the first time I heard it.
