AOTY 2023. My son (4,5yo) wants to listen to nothing else but "I'm the president" anymore. I put it on on the car and he said "Those tones at the beginning were funny" and from then on out it was all "Can we listen to that one again?" all the time. The rest is great too, though. Knower Forever!
Envy stay sharp at the top of the ever so downtrodden path of post hardcore and post rock. They have been pioneers since day one and keep their musical identity, their unique sound and melodious atmosphere alive. The world would be something else without them.
It's versatile, it's unique and it defies any commercial rules of a band staying within one musical genre. For fans of doom, drone, black metal, sludge, post metal/punk, ambient and dark jazz.
It's basically the first real Vapor Wave album that I listened to. Changed the way I see music. I love this album and 猫 シ Corp. altogether. It actually made me start my own Vapor project.
It's Perturbator and Cult Of Luna at the same time! It won't get any darker than that. What's not to love? Amazing album for fans of post metal and dark synth.
