I've always loved the Zeus B. Held production style on classic Dead or Alive, Men Without Hats, and John Foxx records. But just as Eurythmics dabbled with spacy Krautrock sounds prior to finding their radio-friendly pop synth groove, so did Mr. Held. At times this album makes me think of early Yello or Residents records given the distorted vocals, but "Eurode" captures a slicker analogue instrumental style somewhere between Ultravox and Images in Vogue.
