  5. Unreal - Extreme END + Main Title (Hexenkraft Remix)
    by Hexenkraft
Awesome homage to a great game, great soundtrack, and the tracker subculture! Manages to be both recognizable as undeniably Unreal, and definitely Hexenkraft.

    Well done!

    by Scandroid
  7. Rakshak

    Aaj Aaj
Is this album of the year already? Sure sounds like it!

Starts off great with Gaddaar, and gets better the further you listen! Awesome stuff!

  10. Italian Folk Metal

  11. Shadow Works
    by Kerli
    Legends Legends
I discovered Kerli by accident, visiting Tallinn the same day "Love is Dead" was released, and I'm so glad I judged it by it's cover, and bought the album.

Shadow Works feels like a visit from an old friend. Slightly older and wiser, but still the same as when you last met. Choosing just one track as my favourite is unfair...

    Awakening Awakening
From the opening scream, to the end note, this is the best power metal since Dio was waving his longsword around!

'Nuff said! Buy this album now!
  16. Valhalleluja
    by Nanowar Of Steel
Instant Christmas spirit! Just add metal!

    Hail Santa!
    Hail Odin!
    Hail IKEA!
  17. The Darkness and The Light
    by Scandroid
The End of Time The End of Time
This feels like the culmination of Scandroid's work up until now. Pulling together the previous EP's into a coherent collection of emotions that takes you on a musical roller coaster. It wears its eighties influences on its sleeves, but with a distinctly modern feel throughout.

    Well done!
  18. Micro
    by Jinjer
    Teacher, Teacher! Teacher, Teacher!
Short and heavy, this EP pulls no punches! It's very hard to pick between "Teacher, Teacher!" and "Perennial" as my favourite, but they are both excellent pieces, and end this EP on a high note, after the frankly brilliant two first tracks.

Make no mistake, Jinjer is the best metal act out there, and this EP is no exception!
  19. Macro
    by Jinjer
Hard hitting and brutal from the first tone, this is a great album that reinforces Jinjer as the masters of metal!

The sheer confidence needed to pull off Reggae Metal in "Judgement (& Punishment)" is staggering, and the result is pure brilliance!

Edit: After several listens, Home Back really grew on me, and has become my new favourite Jinjer track, especially after reading the lyrics properly!
  20. Spirituality and Distortion
    by Igorrr
    Nervous Waltz Nervous Waltz
This genre melting blend of styles is utterly bizarre, weird, and wonderful. It may be a wild ride, but I'm glad I've given it a proper listen, since this is one of those albums that only shows up once every decade, at best.

And just when you think you've experienced peak weirdness, Musette Maximum starts playing...

    Love it!
