Awesome homage to a great game, great soundtrack, and the tracker subculture! Manages to be both recognizable as undeniably Unreal, and definitely Hexenkraft.
I discovered Kerli by accident, visiting Tallinn the same day "Love is Dead" was released, and I'm so glad I judged it by it's cover, and bought the album.
Shadow Works feels like a visit from an old friend. Slightly older and wiser, but still the same as when you last met. Choosing just one track as my favourite is unfair...
This feels like the culmination of Scandroid's work up until now. Pulling together the previous EP's into a coherent collection of emotions that takes you on a musical roller coaster. It wears its eighties influences on its sleeves, but with a distinctly modern feel throughout.
Short and heavy, this EP pulls no punches! It's very hard to pick between "Teacher, Teacher!" and "Perennial" as my favourite, but they are both excellent pieces, and end this EP on a high note, after the frankly brilliant two first tracks.
Make no mistake, Jinjer is the best metal act out there, and this EP is no exception!
This genre melting blend of styles is utterly bizarre, weird, and wonderful. It may be a wild ride, but I'm glad I've given it a proper listen, since this is one of those albums that only shows up once every decade, at best.
And just when you think you've experienced peak weirdness, Musette Maximum starts playing...
