Great hip hop albums are able to tell the story of a rapper’s life through their experiences. Stan’s experiences are interesting which has allowed him to met wonderful collaborators. When Stan first announced Adultish would be a record themed around being a responsible adult I was a little skeptical. I thought how could something mundane and ordinary work on a record. There is beauty in seeing what it means to be an adult from Stan’s perspective. With age Substantial just gets better.
