The hooks never feel forced, but they dig deep. They also anchor his band, while still allowing them "freedom" to have a blast in the studio, "Fanny Dog" and "When Mommy Kills You" being the best examples. "Alta" just soars as the centerpiece of this album; I first heard him play this live with the Freedom Band in 2017, and I'm proud of Ty for how the studio version turned out, if it's possible for a fan to feel proud of an artist he looks up to.
