The the first time I saw Thea play live, which was in Oxford; I bought a copy of this from Thea herself, as she helped, during an after-show rush on the 'merch' table.

She was gracious enough to take the time to sign them & speak to as many people as she could.

So glad I could get another copy here, 'cause sadly, along with many CDs and other stuff, it was stolen during a house-move 4 years ago. I hadn't really thought to look for another copy, until I got e-mail about New Tin Drum.

This album was my introduction to Thea Gilmore, Can't believe it was 16 years ago. It sounds as fresh & exciting now, as it did then; its almost 'too-simple' sound belies the fire and passion of the songs.

It opened my eyes to Thea's stunning & beautiful voice & her incredible song-writing ability. As a result, it holds a special place in my heart, among her amazing body of work.

Fav track difficult to decide on just one; Exit Route, Land of the free, My Beautiful Defence are also brilliant!
