  1. King
    by Gnome
    Ambrosius Ambrosius
As amazing as their first album was (Father of Time), this one is even better.

Gnome produces genius-level guitar work and you've got to hear it!

They claim they're on a quest for the golden riff, but if they haven't already reached it and gone on to look for platinum, my ears must be deceiving me.
  2. Father Of Time
    by Gnome
    Jebediah Supreme Jebediah Supreme
I can't stop bobbing my head - it's become an almost involuntary thing, making me slightly dizzy (I get motion sick easy), but I can't stop bobbing my head in time to the bass - it's that freaking good!

Gnome rock so dang hard! Come bob your head along with the rest of us! You've got to hear these powerful bass riffs!
  3. Wintersaga
    by Wind Rose
Diggy Diggy Hole Diggy Diggy Hole
Wind Rose is so much fun to listen to. If you love dwarves, you will definitely love their music. You'll probably love their music even if you don't like dwarves.
  4. Stolen Season
    by S. J. Tucker
  5. PixelDust Deluxe Edition
    by Dana Jean Phoenix
    Iron Fist Iron Fist
Wonderful female signer and I love the very 80's feel of the album.

Great mix of synthesizers, real instruments, singing and awesome bass.
  6. Transistor: Original Soundtrack (Extended)
    by Darren Korb
  7. The Pact
    by SLOTHRUST
    Birthday Cake Birthday Cake
Great guitars and a great singer. That's always a good combination.

Leah Wellbaum is a fascinating singer to listen to. Her tone makes her sound like she's singing slower than she actually is.

For example, try singing along to Birthday Cake. She makes it sound easy to sing, but it is very much not. She delivers some of those lines very fast, but makes them sound deceptively calm and slow.
  8. Transistor: Original Soundtrack
    by Darren Korb
    Paper Boats Paper Boats
Great video game music, with some wonderful vocals! I love Paper Boats, it's such a beautiful, touching song. Music made Transistor one of the best games I've played and now I can listen to it without the game. Pure joy!
  9. Waves (Collector's Edition)
    by Bitter Ruin
    Volunteer Volunteer
I love strong female vocalists. The woman singing on this album is one such. It's rare to find such a high-quality Soprano. She sounds like a flute, but in a very good way!

Quite aside from that significant point, the music is very well written, fun and often touching.

Oddly, the cat also likes this album. Puts him right to happy, contented sleep.
  10. Skyscrapers & Helicopters

    Punch Punch
Great mixture of various styles of Rock. It'll make you get up and dance for one song, then bring tears to your eyes with another.

There are some truly wonderful guitar bits in this album!

Wish I could pick two favorite tracks. Punch is great, love the guitars in that one, but Waiting tugs my heart strings hard every time.

If I could include a third favorite...My Last Mistake has one of the best openings I've ever heard on a song (again, it's the guitars: so good!).
  11. The Antikythera Mechanism
    by Nathaniel Johnstone
    Stone Woman Stone Woman
This is an awesome album. It's got Greek Mythology, Steampunk and the awesome vocals of Dogwood! Snugglefish is hilarious. "Release the Kraken!" My favorite character from myth (poor, poor Medusa) has her own song, even! What more could you want?
  12. Any Moment Now
    by Nathaniel Johnstone
The Medical Term The Medical Term
So many good songs in this one! Very relaxing to listen to.
  13. Persephone Is Dead, Long Live Persephone!
    by Dogwood
    Pygmalion Pygmalion
Dogwood is the very best singer I've ever heard, bar none. She's got an amazing vocal range, with absolutely perfect portrayal of emotion for each song. To give some context, my previous favorite was Norah Jones. Dogwood makes her look like an amateur.
  14. Narratives
    by Nathaniel Johnstone
    Baba Yaga Baba Yaga
Baba Yaga is one of my favorite mythological characters. She's got her own theme song now! Also, Red is a great, twisted out-come for the story of Little Red Riding Hood. And what's not to love about Frog and Toad? "FRIENDS! Not enemies!"
  15. The Mother Matrix
    by Nathaniel Johnstone
    Little Star Little Star
Good high-energy music, with some great vocals from Dogwood.

I also recently found this album is great to have in the background while playing Terraria. ;-)
  16. Dimetrodon
    by The Doubleclicks
    Godzilla Godzilla
This is just fun in musical form!

I love the metaphor comparing the actions of someone in a relationship to the destruction of Godzilla attacking Japan.
  17. Mischief
    by S. J. Tucker
Salad of Doom Salad of Doom
I'm no fan of leafy greens, but Salad of Doom is hilarious. I love that song! "NOM! NOM!"
  18. Bookends Fall
