    by CROOKED BANGS
    00:00/00:00
    Le Phenix Le Phenix
1980s post punk made to sound so fresh it sounds like it was invented yesterday.

Just a bunch of great songs that you listen from start to finish and then want to repeat.
  2. Don't Stop The Youth
    by Fireburn
    00:00/00:00
    Suspect Suspect
Reminds me of a certain seminal NYC HC band.

But that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying it and sailin' on.
  3. ...In The Shadows Below (2016)
    by Year of the Cobra
    00:00/00:00
    The Siege The Siege
Although not quite as consistent as their breakthrough EP, this is a great slab of unique sludg/doom....with some of the best female vox ever.
  4. Mulatu Of Ethiopia
    by Mulatu Astatke
    00:00/00:00
    Mulatu Mulatu
Strangely hypnotic. Surprisingly well produced, considering it's age.

Blood And Oil Blood And Oil
Imagine if GRIEF wrote songs that actually had a groove to it (besides being just insanely heavy).

Yeah. that's how good this is. Instant mini-classic of extreme doom/sludge.
  7. -018- MARY BELL s/t CD
    by TRABUC RECORDS
    00:00/00:00
MARY BELL "Torture" MARY BELL "Torture"
Absolutely spine crushing brutal ugly SLUDGE.
These guys make GRIEF and Meth Drinker sound uplifting and light weight.
Suprisingly good groove, the album really flows well, very listenable.
    Freaking brutal bass guitar tone....
  8. PISS RIPPER
    by SORCERY
    00:00/00:00
    Grog Delusion Grog Delusion
Bloody great, bloody vicious crust/thrash that just crushes everything in its path.

Violent dual vocal attack, great necro production, the works. This is guaranteed to snap a few necks.

    by DWOOM
    00:00/00:00
    Pale Mare Pale Mare
A bunch of trad doomsters discovered the Boss HM-2 pedal and decided to create a trad doom metal opus that is as heavy as any Swedish death metal you've ever heard.

    Mission accomplished...and then some.
  11. Kosmogonia (CSR238CD)
    by Krzysztof Penderecki
    00:00/00:00

    by PORTA NIGRA
    00:00/00:00
    In Stahlgewittern In Stahlgewittern
An interesting attempt to merge the insanity of Landfermann-era Bethlehem with some of the chug of early Rammstein.

    Good music for invading Bavaria.
  15. Governance (CSR237CD)
    by Khost
    00:00/00:00
Redacted Repressed Recalcitrant Redacted Repressed Recalcitrant

    by Open Tomb
    00:00/00:00
    Despair Despair
Uplifting, joyful, life re-affirming....full of love for your fellow man.

Just as you would expect the bastard offspring of GRIEF and Meth Drinker to sound like.
  17. In Passing Ascension CD / 12"LP
    by SUFFERING HOUR
    00:00/00:00
The Abrasive Black Dust The Abrasive Black Dust
Piercing dissonant death metal that takes it dissonance from black metal (rather than Gorguts like most similar bands).

Excellent ideas, innovative riffs, a real pleasure.

Together with Sunless, this is the band at the top of this genre right now.
  18. Onomatopoeia
    by Sequoian Aequison
    00:00/00:00
To The Surface / К Поверхности To The Surface / К Поверхности
Amazing dreamy doomy post-metal. Sounds a lot like FVNERALS, but without the female vocals...just instrumental.

Beautiful atmosphere and a totally doomy feeling throughout.
  19. Irreverence
    by MURDER MADE GOD
    00:00/00:00
Throne Of Derision Throne Of Derision
There is tech death, then there is good tech death and then there is the rare AMAZING tech death.

And this is one of those rare releases. It's not just that the execution is flawless (obviously), but it's just bloody MEMORABLE.

The 30 minutes of the album pass by like it was just 5 and I am compelled to play it again on repeat.

Brutality is rarely this good. A hidden gem.
  20. Transfiguration
    by Show of Bedlam
    00:00/00:00
    Blue Lotus Blue Lotus
Bloody great cold-wave fuelled wall of doom/sludge. Really dark psych atmosphere and great female vocals that perfectly blend in with the music.

One of the most original sounding doom/sludge bands I have heard.

If you're into Kroh, FVNERALS, Demon Lung, etc then this a must buy.

    Highly recommended.
  21. Urraca
    by Sunless
    00:00/00:00
Gathering at the Skull’s Eye Gathering at the Skull’s Eye
    THIS ALBUM IS BRILLIANT. PERIOD.

Goes beyond just simple Gorguts worship, although the are obviously an inspiration. Sunless elevate the whole atonal death metal genre to a whole new level of unsettling experiences.

Big respect to the recording engineer who managed to achieve such a good balance between the guitars and the bass and did not just bury the bass guitar in the mix. It does add a lot to the originality of this band.

    A MUST BUY. UNREAL.
  22. Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins
    by Baring Teeth

Fine example of Gorguts-inspired atonal death metal. Jagged, unnerving. Pushing the edges of metal.
  24. Tando Ashanti
    by Hexis
    00:00/00:00
    Tando Tando
A crushing wall of blackened sludge/crust insanity obliterating in its path. Their best produced album, really helps their bludgeoning style to shine.

    00:00/00:00
    Risti Risti
When I close my eyes, they transport me back in time to the glory days of the 90s when death/doom was king...but still manage to sound fresh and modern.

    Great band.
  29. The Grey EP
    by Scour
    00:00/00:00
    Tear Gas Tear Gas
THIS is the mutant offspring of grind and black metal we've all been waiting for.

Philip Anselmo on vocals has not sounded this inspired...well, since his Pantera days.

Damn. What a record. Gve me more.
  30. ILLUSORY

    00:00/00:00

  38. Brown Angel "Shutout"
    by Sleeping Giant Glossolalia/SGG Records
    00:00/00:00
    Armageddon Armageddon
Really well done sludge/noise rock. Has many traces of GOD at times.

The song "Armageddon" is truly hypnotic. Recommended if you're looking for something different, but still pretty damn heavy.

Pair this up with the last Palehorse album and you're in low-end heaven.
