23 minutes of non-stop hooks! Once you're in, it's difficult to put this album down. Every listen inspires another.
  15. Blood Year
    by Russian Circles
    Quartered Quartered
Dig this album!... a slow, dark grind that weaves through ambient and heavy passages, all of it heavily melodic. The album winds its way to a peak with the final two tracks: “Sinaia” and “Quartered”, the latter of which draws the album to a massive close. Much like I’ve come to expect from Russian Circles, this album has an energy that commands your complete and undivided attention.

    What Was What Was
This album hits hard right out the gates. That signature Torche guitar tone is dominant, and the balance of crushing and melodic riffing is nailed perfectly, with more of a leaning towards some moodier/vibey parts. Tons of atmospheric vocals and heavy melody here, and of course, a massive rhythm section. All of it blends to totally drone you in.
