  1. On Patrol
    by SUN ARAW
    Holodeck Blues Holodeck Blues
"Somewhere in Miami, Florida, lies a bridge.
Tall and looming large over the sunny sea of skies, beyond the clouds and above the city.
Down below the clouds, a man sits patiently, inside his vehicle, gliding along the streets of Miami."

What's not been said about this album that's been said?
A masterpiece of ambient and thematic music, a concept album in a different league of dubby, electronic groove.

Since my first listen in the Hotline Miami soundtrack, I knew this would be a special one.
  2. Prayer Tapes, Vol. 1
    by SUN ARAW
    Side B Side B
"Silent prayer and consideration in the woods is the way to the Sun Ark. Kneel with the accompanied Sun Ark Prayer Mat, and embrace the solar energy."

The Prayer Tapes are a wierd project, but comforting none-the-less. The warm tape fuzz, peaceful imagery of the cover and the warm tones of the synthesizers and instruments provide a perfect ambience to relax to for a good 40 minutes. Well worth the money.
  3. Prayer Tapes, Vol. 2
    by SUN ARAW
    Side B Side B
"The sun has arrived. The lands are afflicted with fire. It will cleanse of those who do not deem worth for the Sun Ark. Embrace the energy, and you will be saved by the solar beings."

A more relaxed yet upbeat take of the Prayer Tapes, expanding upon the long form compositions previously explored. With a now firey cover, it is apparent that a new sound has come, which is present within the tapes, beginning after Side B of the first tape. The cracks and ambience is the arrival of a new peace.
  4. Lux Laze
by Jack Latham / Daniel Swan
    I (Opener) I (Opener)
"Stealth sweep and lowdown beat are the echo of running, running, running, with a sense of helplessness unknown. It's on and on, chasing and hazing the luxury."

A small but effective soundtrack, leitmotif a powerful tool in providing a backdrop for the movie. Echoes feelings of moving constantly, and a sense of escape to it all. Would recommend for a session of sleuthing through a government compound.
  5. sungazer vol. I
    by sungazer
Dream of Mahjong Dream of Mahjong
"Ethereal, 3-dimensional, abstract chess in parks accompanied by the float of saxophone and drums. Wierd grooves that rock you deep into the sun."

Sungazer's first full release is as impressive as it is sudden. It breaks out with blistering speeds of bass improvisation from Neely, and the drums also accompanying show the raw power the duo hold within seconds. The following tracks roll in a mood of self-expression and presents the mind of jazz in a new light, of which many contemporaries cannot.
  6. Pop Food
    by Jack Stauber
    Dog Nightmare Dog Nightmare
"An apple is a cartoonish shade of lime green. A banana is some kind of neon yellow. And the music going through these tracks is coloured rainbow."

What's to be said that hasn't been said already about this piece of music history? The instruments work in a sort of tandem that is impossible to describe, with everything coming together to form a memory of something truly special.
  7. HiLo
    by Jack Stauber
    Beird Beird
"The piano rang out with such quality and variation of it's unique and wonderful sound that it was as if a full 4 piece band was living inside, humming away with their tunes echoing away forever."

As with Pop Food, another masterfully quirky and unique mix of sound and style comes together to make something unheard of before from only 1 person.
  8. Zaki
    by zaki
Oopsie Go Wrong Oopsie Go Wrong
"Eat three egg and laugh at yourself.
Don't let laugh egg three eat at you.
    Live Laugh Love."

A small, 24 minute collection of tracks that will have you moving and energized like none before. It's a mix of post punk, psych rock and a musical expression of a Miya*zaki* piece. Wacky vocals, instrumentation that holds no limit and a sound unlike any other.
  9. Polygondwanaland
by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
    Crumbling Castle Crumbling Castle
"Bricks and rubble are piled sky-high where a great lumbering structure used to be, surveying the lands around it until it came crumbling, crumbling, crumbling down."

A unique bit of music from King Gizz, a rich taste of a concept album with some good old psych rock in there. A nice album, grand when free to all.
  10. Super Poly 64
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Bowser's Crumbling Castle Bowser's Crumbling Castle
"Inching closer each step we make, Crumbling Castle. We see large pipes of green, Crumbling Castle. Who will save us from Bowser, Crumbling Castle?"

An interesting new sound to Gizz fan's pallette, with a legendary story and now legendary bootlegger in the making. Keep it fucking rolling!!
  11. Murder on the Rocks
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Alter Me I (Live At Red Rocks '22) Alter Me I (Live At Red Rocks '22)
"The drains bubbled with frothing green goo that seemed to rise and rise under the feet of the concert goers. The music boomed from the speakers and vibrated the fluorescent liquid, as if a chemical reaction echoed through the munt. Bass rumbled and guitars whined, and the munt seemed to form into a great monster, who then freestyled a boogie in the back corner."

Fantastic curation from Obicogs, and a good choice of a bootleg.
    Keep it up, canvas!!
  12. The Fourth Colour (Vinyl Mix)
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
This track changed my life. If not for this, life would no longer be complete.
  13. Teenage Gizzard
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
    Hey There Hey There
"Surfing! The gator took ride on a fish, sword in hand and prepared to draw and slaughter all the children. Doing a kickflip onto the beach, he landed on two feet and took to the land."

A collection of previous singles from Gizz's surf era that forms a great rhythm and feel, bursting with teenage energy.
  14. Demos 1 & 2
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
    Dirt (Demo) Dirt (Demo)
"Scraps of paper. Soundbytes. A small jam here, a riff there, the basis is what albums came to be. Found, collected, collated and created into a finite piece sent into the world."

A lovely collection of demos, with the punk format of cassette to get it going.
  15. Demos Vol. 3 + Vol. 4
by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
    Flying Fishy Flying Fishy
"More scraps of paper. More soundbytes. It was simply too much for one box, so they created a machine. Flowing lava, the Rat's skull did not scream. They instead sounded like a jukebox, playing snippets of hidden glory that didn't quite make it through previously. How homely."

Another collection of demos, this time on LP for me that proved to be a lovely binge for calm nights.
  16. AGONIZER
    by SENTRIES
    Hantu Hantu
"Sensory overload, coffee spilt, bitcoin bought and a tight chested feeling at 70mph. Agonizing pain, a rollercoaster of emotion with drops as steep as mountains at each step presenting itself."

Kim Elliot's "first real attempt at an album" is not to be understated. High octane and thrilling energy tracks plague the album, and the noise-rock feel expresses anger and emotion in a way that most cannot be stated otherwise.

Kim may look back on it not fondly, it's unrivaled by many albums.
  17. Music From ULTRAKILL Prelude
    by Heaven Pierce Her
A Shattered Illusion A Shattered Illusion
"Chaotic greetings and blank screens, shattered by the hand that brings judgement onto those that have already been judged enough, a form of torture impossible to describe."

A taster of what to come very much left me starving for more, causing me to spend the fateful 15 quid that got me hooked into games with hyper-violence.
The catharsis that comes from the violence and the equally aggressive soundtrack is a feeling hard to describe.
  18. ULTRAKILL: INFINITE HYPERDEATH
    by Heaven Pierce Her
Debussy: Clair de Lune Debussy: Clair de Lune
"Hell has found it's own hell in the form of a chaotic machine, painted blue and marked with initials of a bygone era that doesn't affect the fact that it's going to kill everything down there.

Such great tones, guitar and music that can only be identified to Hakita.
Aggressiveness, violence and bloodshed represented through music is truly something that is unique.
  19. ULTRAKILL: CHAOS/ORDER
    by Heaven Pierce Her
The Spinal Staircase The Spinal Staircase
"You feel hot spikes pierce your spine as you descend the vertebrae, a slide not of innocence but fueled by the guilt you carried in an earlier life."

Another great piece of music from the skilled Hakita, with masterful composition and great mixing overall.
The general sound is haunting really, with a very zombie like sound and filling me with a drudge and a sort of loathing that only Ultrakill can set into people.
  20. ULTRAKILL: IMPERFECT HATRED
    by Heaven Pierce Her
    Deep Blue Deep Blue
"A cacophany of noise overloads the circuits, yet the mind still works. Blood flowing throughout perfect veins, fueling the reckoning that Hell itself is afraid of."

A great soundtrack for an equally great game, with the constant motif of the Amen Break a great reminder of the game's religious themes and the looming threat of Gabriel's Wrath. The more and more I listen, the more the idea of a concept album rings in my head.
