Not as good as Albala..but still a great album and so many tracks to appreciate. Samba Tourè is growing to become the master of Malian authors and the lesson he received from the late Ali Farka is shaping well into his music.
still so much to listen to, but I already know why... Diaraby is a wonderful way to pay tribute to the late Ali Farka Toure and this voice+piano version is outstanding. And I will never have enough of Jew & Muslim playing Music together.
Why I love this album? Uhm..because I love rebetiko music, though I don't speak Greek :-) Well played, modern sounding but still rooted in the right ground
may a non Greece native play rebetiko? Yeeees he can1 A modern and faithful rendition of one of the best traditional music forms of the last 100 years.
