  1. Starchild
    by Common Saints
In no manner am I suggesting this EP is not sound. What I am saying is that the number "Starchild" is the only song that seems to move as a natural progression from the album Idol Eyes, where to my ears, it's the singular and only worthy event on this outing.
  2. Idol Eyes
    by Common Saints
Intoxicating euphoric ethereal psychedelic soul at it’s very best … and I do mean intoxicating, as the adventure never rises above heartbeat level, locked into a slow-paced groove bewitched by R&B inspirations from the late 60s and early 70’s that reach out of the darkness with an easy going vibe of love, joy and happiness.

  3. Reds for a Blue Planet
    by Bobby Lee
Bobby Lee is out with a new single, which is how most of his material surfaces, and while I fully admit to picking and choosing the numbers I wish to keep from this San Francisco based instrumentalist, “Reds for a Blue Planet” is a resounding number, standing on equal footing with anything done by Steve Gunn, and certainly rides down the same enchanted backroad as “Durango” by J.J. Cale.

  4. Mirage
    by Stephen Bailey
Sometimes a number like “Mirage” stands out like a beacon, a manifesto calling from across the sky, drawing you in with wasted couch-bound grandeur designed eases you into the intoxicating splendor of hypnotic substances. 9 is one of those albums from which I’ve drawn but a single resounding song to add to my list of other such numbers, tracks to be nurtured and appreciated for the warm-handed care they bestows on my drifting dilated eyes.
  5. Protection
by Steve Gunn & Mdou Moctar
A deliciously romantic laidback wasted sunbaked adventure that simply smolders, rising up like heatwaves from the desert macadam to morph with the drifting clouds that seem to hover just out of reach. The number is light-handed and lightheaded, infused with small intoxicating effects that will leave your thoughts drifting back in time.

  6. Other You
    by Steve Gunn
Seriously, Steve Gunn is a warm blanket of stars, delightful couch-bound intoxication, an after season walk on the beach, light-handed and heartfelt, a haze of blue smoke that curls the corners of your mouth with anticipation ... at least that's how I feel about his tunes.

  7. Legend Of A Mind
    by The Chemistry Set
Not since the Moody's first laid down this bit of intoxicating haze has the song been so splendidly re-visioned and brought into the light for a new generation of those seeking couch-bound emancipation and delight ... Dr. Tim will always take you just where you need to be, just when you need to be there.

  8. Mata Hari Honey
    by SEND MEDICINE
    Checking In Checking In
"Mata Hari Honey" is a low-keyed, delightfully meandering hazed adventure that flows effortlessly, one filled with sonic harmonic presentations meant to delight those seeking trouble-free intoxicating couchbound splendor. There’s a grace and playfulness to hearing Send Medicine lay out their hushed vocals and deeply considered time-slip fuzzed guitars, filling each track with romantic modulations that move from the historic presence of the mid 60’s into the here and now without missing a beat.
  9. Checking In
    by SEND MEDICINE
You know that funny delicious feeling you get in your stomach when you take a dip in the road too fast, or when the sidewalk reaches up and grabs your foot for no good reason, well there you go, that’s just Send Medicine checking-in. On a lighter note, do you think it would be wise to drop acid with this wayward band of minstrels?

Great music from a great band too many dumb-ass Americans know nothing about.

  10. Second Biggest Fan/High in the Rain
    by SEND MEDICINE
Smoking with an understated intoxicating haze, “Second Biggest Fan” dives in with crystal clear notes, hushed vocals, fuzzed guitars and a very haunting electric piano; coming on like pure lysergic, just before the trip truly takes charge of your central nervous system.

“High In the Rain” sparks memories of the nearly forgotten “Brother Louie” by Stories, floating gently through the ether, laced with a bit of swagger and stance, never rushing headlong, yet certainly captivatingly enchanting.
  11. Mermaids on the Verandah
    by SEND MEDICINE
With the opening track “Corduroy” rocking me back, I was awash in a super intoxicating piece of bright refined psychedelic British pop that held my attention as little else has over the last couple of months.

I'm gonna admit it, no two ways about it, hearing this record as a collective is far better than considering the songs individually, as the sonic wholeness created is simply captivating.

  12. Comes Home Late Again
    by SEND MEDICINE
Dreamladen wasted neo-psychedelic pop at it’s very best. A song expertly woven, designed to keep you couch-bound, one laced with hazy layers of intoxication and swaggering delights, nearly too cool for words … sadly for me, the rest of their nocturnal adventures were not as delightfully constructed as the 4 numbers I’ve chosen to ride with through the summer.

Guys … give me more of this and I’ll gladly send you medicine, after all, I am the Night Nurse.

    by SEND MEDICINE
So happy to be your first purchase. A terrific new single that deliciously rides the currents of dream-pop and imaginative neo-psychedelic in a nearly romantic fashion. A song filled with wasted wanderlust and splendor, being certified by this listener as a blissful couch-bound time-slip extraordinaire, one that eases you through a wasted afternoon and should not be missed for any reason if you're inclined to let your mind roam around in the clouds for any amount of time at all.

  17. Cliff House
    by THE RECALLS
I'm constantly stumbling around in search of those brilliant laidback bits of neo-psychedelic couch-bound intoxicating tracks, where The Recalls have delivered two righteous numbers unto me, for which I will be eternally grateful.

Now gents, consider an entire album of such luscious wayward material.

  20. Hail to the Clear Figurines
    by The Asteroid No.4
The Astroids turn the tables and jumpstart the album with “Wicked Wire,” a hard driving number with an irresistible backbeat, and then slide into the soaring trippy numbers, filled with washes of colour, spacious sound, superb reverb, echo, slow-drive jangling guitars, processed vocals, and delicate melodic touches that lightly reach out to caress the sides of your face ... just to make sure that you’re still conscious, and ever so slightly aware.
