  8. In A House On A Hill
    by Social Simon
We Don’t Cry Like We Used To We Don’t Cry Like We Used To
This was a bit of an impulse purchase, but one that I don't regret. I don't usually go for music that has been "constructed" on a computer rather than performed, but Simon's tunes are great and his lyrics witty and engaging. I enjoyed his vocals too. Occasionally the production becomes a little too bombastic for my tastes but overall an engaging and uplifting listen,
  9. Kissing The Foe
    by Daniel Romano
Kissing The Foe Kissing The Foe
This is such a convincing tribute to classic 70s AOR pop that I had to double-check online that this wasn't a reissue. It turns out that Daniel Romano is an amazingly prolific and current musician with a great gift for melody. I think it's great that he played and recorded everything himself, even if some of the songs could do with a little editing for my tastes. Definitely one that I'll keep returning to and enjoying, though.
  10. Modern Johnny Sings: Songs in the Age of Vibe
    by Theo Katzman
What Did You Mean (When You Said Love) What Did You Mean (When You Said Love)
I discovered Theo Katzman through a random YouTube video and immediately fell for his melodies. The production and musicianship is phenomenal and "What Did You Mean (When You Said Love)" is a song I would kill to have written!
