After the 2018 demo, the idea of a full DV album was always exciting. Volatile Forms does not disappoint.
Like The Looming Spectre, the tracks are lengthy and somewhat uneven - but this is exactly what makes DV so very good. It's organic, unpolished and sounds like no one else.
To call it death metal limits it; sure, it's in there, but there's also doom, post-metal, wall-of-sound, black metal obviously...
Simply put, Dead Void are the Dead Void of metal.
Long may they reign.
