Duncan surprises me time and time again. Just when I thought it could get no better, he releases another ground shaker, that is much more vivid and technical, than anything I've heard from him. The guy is just on a different level than most.
Orgelhuset boasts all the darkness and deep emotional quality that most great dark ambient possesses, however this album has that special something that sets it far beyond the rest. I found myself effortlessly disappearing into its dark yet dreamy world. Slowly and calmly melting into the fabric of unique landscapes I haven't seen or heard before. It's hard to put it in words, but there are certain albums that leave a mark on you, and this is one of them.
Found Duff Egan by suggestion from a friend, and I'm glad I did. This is a nice blend of both light and dark energies. However, when it comes to Facing the Dragon, now that's a different level of dark, one that crawls deep inside and doesn't seem to want to leave.
