Philip White is both a craggy old formalist, and one of the most forward-looking musical innovators I've ever heard. Have you ever met an ecstatic curmudgeon? Philip's music blows my mind.
Nick Jenkins is a prolific song creator. He's constantly coming up with new, instantly-lovable, ever-ponderable shit, but SALT is an album that has stuck with me for a while now. Lo-fi and great.
the Bedroom Community record label
Nadia Sirota's liner notes call her sound "gin-dry." I'd disagree. Yes, she plays w/ incredible control and precision, but she also wields an enviable richness most contemp musicians lack. depth
