I've followed Freddy's music for years - from the house parties of Dunedin to the dive bars of Berlin - he gets better and better with age (like cask wine?). His latest album is my personal favourite.
Dark music with layered female harmonies is my thing at the moment. I discovered this band from back home recently, and can't stop playing them - gritty, dark and beautiful!
Catchy and thoughtful, a bit dark but without being doomy, and a fine example of how to use acoustic guitar without just being a run-of-the-mill singer-songwriter.
