Recording backup vocals on this album was the kind of experience that opened my soul up a bit wider. gallagher/cross blithely combine the sublime and the ridiculous with risk-taking and sheer talent.
Rachael Cardiello puts more soul into one viola and one small woman's vocal chords than seems humanly possible. This album is a wonderful mix of lyrical West Coast with down and dirty New York.
It's like Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Bob Dylan when he was trying to prove that he could sing were all reincarnated in Geoff Howe's fingers and vocal chords. Well worth a listen.
