Legitimately one of my favourite albums with some of my favourite songs of the past decade. Tom's lyrics flit between hilarious and surprisingly poetic ("humans cannot choose how they live in the end/all of life is transient"), and they're backed by genuinely fantastic instrumentals. It's funny and brilliant and I love it.
Just so lovely, poignant, melancholy, and thoughtful. Dreamy, lush lofi music to relax to, but the melodies are so pretty that it hits me right where it hurts.
Just dissonant and weird enough to be super interesting on every listen, while also somehow being incredibly catchy. Had this album on constant replay for a while now.
Will says in the liner notes that this album was designed to be less of a concept album and more of a collection of songs that each have a unique energy, and in this aspect it succeeds so damn well. It won’t be for everybody but I f***king loved it. It’s interesting and weird and catchy and emotional. I can’t wait to see what they do next.
