This whole release is dreamy and dark in the best ways. I used to bury people for a living and "Apparition In The Mist" captures the feeling of rolling into a cemetery on a cold hazy morning to begin the days work perfectly.
Ruin is high in the running for my favorite album of this year. Crushingly heavy, noisey in all the right ways, and riffs that will put you in a trace. It starts out in a dark place and continues to ebb and flow into darker territory as the album proceeds. Don't sleep on this one.
I love a band that lets awesome riffs speak for themselves. No complicated solos over them, no flashy drum fills, no superfluous vocals, just bad ass riff after riff. This record is a perfect example of that.
