where it all started, lurching out of the gate. purulent, putrescent, just completely fuckin excoriating, it still sounds urgent and vital. like metal? you need this. don't like metal? boy do i have the album for you. thrash it on tape so it sounds even worse. brilliant.

    Guillan-Barre Guillan-Barre
glacial textures that slowly drop to absolute zero, bypassing bone and hitting marrow. fond memories of walking to work at 4am with this on, sometimes with snow. beautiful, and the warmth of coffee became a salve. strongly recommended
  20. Tunes 2011 to 2019
    by Burial
    State Forest State Forest
Burial, who has spent the last decade trading in generous loosies, compiles them into an album that, had it been an LP, could feasibly be called his best. Accusations regarding exiguous portion sizes have, accordingly, been rendered obsolete. The tunes here plot a new path into something comprehensive and assured, certainly, but they remain affecting in their initial iterations; only Burial deserves the best of both worlds
