I've got 4 favorites but The incomplete truth stands out. Something like a cry out, a claim, a finding, shouted at life from a scaffolding. Somehow euphoric and defiant. Love this album for its deepness in terms of muscical span, and the beyond words emotional reach. Each track is a door, a slide to some acute feeling, and they all cross, merge. A rare completeness. R&M is inspired as much as inspiring, and a great musician, no doubt about that.
Quite a renewal! but still ATOEM unmatched sound. Hard beats, dub touches à la Ez3kiel'Naphtaline'era, solid psych-rock roots calling back Vangelis+their own Krautrock offspring. And this senxual bass. Always unexpected, their sound could be played live at Pompeii as much as in a muddy illegal rave, a Fusion hangar or an opera venue. The pop turn (a turn off for me) of this album disturbed me...not long.Managed to pull me in nonetheless. What can I say. They're fucking over the top good.
Hard to chose ! But. Having KasbaH + Bab + Leïla Koumiya joining, is outstanding. It's A LOT. And appreciated A LOT. It feels like their colab was to exist.
What a feat, they each all fit, exceptional track <3
Really hard to pick one of this mirror laser ball of a release, but RAVEOLUTION just gets to my core by all sides.
Though Esta noche ... is over catchy. As for Lethal weapon, it fuckin' deserves its name...
I'll stop there. Tomorrow there'll be a very much alive TND 002, for the bliss of us the dance-floor die-hards : ]
This might be among the best love songs ever written, cause "Only Max has a moustache".
The contrast between the heavy kind of good'old hard tek from england mud in a slow bpm version and the lyrics which cannot not make you laugh like hell or at least smile makes my day... kinda every day!!
This is punk, this is wave, this is weird, this is sex, this is shlag, this is oh so good rock, this is Perel in red latex, teaming with Curses and Dame Bonnet, I won't elaborate any further.
(I do love the whole album, halas, I must confess)
Feel like I've been waiting for such a band a loooong time. Taste's atmosphere is brilliantly smoggy, foggy, lascive, feel like Nick Cave could pass us by like it's normal on his way to shake hands with Poison Ivy before going for a drink with Tom Waits at a Joy Division's gig. It's a firework of all this but this is new this is good this is right now and we can fuckin' relate.
Found out a year late, felt I was at the wheel of scandalously flashy open roof car, strolling in LA, neon lights becoming lasers cause who cares about the speeding tickets when you're flying so high on energy italo bliss?
