Half-lit is a smash hit. All the songs on this album rock. Next level 2010's. So modern yet already classic in my mind. The lead singer has a charismatic style and voice, crucial for a band's "sound" They don't sound like anyone else.

    Nosebleed Weekend Nosebleed Weekend
The Coathangers' confidence is infectious. Coming at you from all directions their music is edgy, hard and sophisticated without pretension or antics. I knew they had it together musically from the first few bars but they also seem business savvy. I love that. Art without commerce is a hobby.

Damn. Blown away. The lead singer is like a punk Janis Joplin with equal intensity. Killer hooks and great songwriting. Bruise Violet commands attention. These girls have something to say.

Royal Brat is so tight. Saw them live at a house party in St. Louis. The music has you begging for more at every turn. Bands that are mediocre play at you. The ones that are special envelop you and Royal Brat does just that.

We're In The Basement We're In The Basement
Buzzkill is a simply brilliant punk song. As good or better than anything in my juke box which is all classic 70-80's punk. Life's A Nash is another killer song. The Croissants have a really unique sound.

How Are You Doing? How Are You Doing?
For teenagers to make an album like this is simply astonishing. These girls are stars, in my mind with the right guidance they could be as big as Nirvana and Oasis were in the 90's or the Ramones in the 70's if that's even possible for a rock act these days with our shallow R&B/hip hop/Etc. dominated music culture. All three of their albums are some of the best rock/punk music I've ever heard.
