Among the more mellow offerings from Cryo Chamber. Low key humming drones form the base of these pieces, while vague half-melodies slowly form and dissolve, never developing into something more conventional, so as to retain the dreamlike state of the music and atmosphere it portrays - the album wisely never crosses that barrier of subtlety, and as such it remains a work that the pre-conscious state of mind can completely lose itself in while the wakeful mind lies dormant. While far less overtly foreboding or emotional than most of Cryo Chamber, this a warm and peaceful yet highly blurred and foggy world that, while inviting, hides a subtle feeling of anxiety and the unknown lurking just beyond the fog, every now and then sending that feeling that something is not right as you peacefully drift along. This is one for tired ears and tired minds, that are still looking for that "edge" that separates dark ambient from more conventional and mainstream ambient styles. This is a work I find myself going to often, as I find it can be hard to find that balance of dreamlike and highly soothing yet esoteric and unconventional at the same time. Wonderful.
