HUSK: Absolutely killer stuff by BLAST SHIELD!! Unlike their previous rip your face off last release "Even Pain Counts" , this one focuses on crushing heaviness. Starting with the intense grindy "Boatburner" killer speed with a sludgy, power violence type end. Then onto "Carving" an all out slow monstrous instrumental that is so sludgy that it seems like it can't fit in 1:28! Then comes "Husk" that has that old school grind power violence feel! All around killer and talented stuff that rips!
This album is amazing! Killer heavy metal with a vintage doom feel. Heavy pounding bass and drums hold down a huge low end while rhythm and lead guitar cuts through with crushing riffs and epic solos and topped with old school doom sounding amazing vocals! Not your average band, super unique. check them out.
Killer! Super aggressive, and gritty, but with a beastly downtuned heaviness that's straight from hell! Super groovy drums and bass with guitar driving right through it all and some gritty wild wide open vocals to make some heavy, music that makes you want to smash through everything in your path!
Awesome album! from spooky flowing doomy ambience to all of the sudden crushing heavy low end riffs, wild raw vocals that still sit comfortably in the mix, and epic sounds all around. If you like heavy stuff then you will like these guys.
Somehow catchy while not sacrificing any heaviness or grit! This album is great! The heaviness mixed sometimes with seemingly dissonant tones gives it an extra heavy edge while certain parts are clearly driving and more upbeat to give it something that's even palatable for people that don't listen to heavy stuff. Very good and unique music for its style.
So much more than stoner rock! it seems to have a little of everything that has that groovy psych doomy style. Awesome riffs, groovy basslines and killer drums to hold it down while the awesomely unique vocals sit right in the stonery and sometimes trance-like rhythms
Just saw them live last night! Super unique doom/stoner metal. Catchy and at times groovy riffs are backed up by low heavy bass at times and other times the bass is jumping way up with the guitars to make sick fills that compliment the drummers doomy beats! Reaches far beyond normal stoner and doom to make awesome music that can further be explained by listening to it.
Awesome! They got an old school hardcore punk/hard rock vibe going with a versatile style that transitions from song to song or even neatly during the song. Heavy in your face guitar riffs and vocals with some serious funky bass and hard hitting drums. Definitely worth listening to if you're a fan of hard rock in general, and especially if you like old school stuff with a modern twist and a lot of talent.
Great! Heavy, crushing, doom laden riffs with brutally deep doomy vocals that open up to slightly melodic but still heavier than heavy melodies. Definitely worth checking out if your into heavy doom with a death metal/doom type feel.
