    Something More Something More
Knower's first truly mature offering, this album is full of catchy songwriting and sophisticated chord changes. That's the best part, but on top of that the production is really interesting. The samples and ambient effects are creative and sometimes beautiful. No matter what Louis and Genevieve try it's always musical.
  5. LIFE
    by KNOWER
More Than Just Another Try More Than Just Another Try
Real musicians taking advantage of technology to make real music! Funky, catchy, amusing, full of spirit, and surprising to the ears of this older jazz musician. Can't stop listening!
  6. Time
    by Louis cole
    Things Things
This album is a more mature and better-made expression of what Louis Cole has been doing for a while, being a musical iconoclast. He's fearless in the pursuit of his vision. Sometimes that vision is weird, sometimes it's ironic, sometimes it's beautiful. Some of the tracks sound like demos, others are fully built, but they all come with honesty and soul. Not to mention musical talent up the wazoo.
  7. Quality Over Opinion

Bitches (feat. Sam Gendel) Bitches (feat. Sam Gendel)
Awww, dammit. I hate to be a critical downer, but it seems like too many songs, thrown together too quickly. Some nice spots, but not up to the musicality and cleverness of Time, or Knower's Life. Louis Cole has amazing talent and vision, maybe he's just finding his way. I hope so. Some fun videos, though!
  8. Let it Happen
    by Louis cole
I love everything about this song--the sounds, the chord changes, the melodies, the strings, even the wobbly detuned background. But it would be even better if Louis would just sing in his regular voice, instead of that tortured falsetto. Seriously.

    Speeding 72 Speeding 72
Heard "Speeding 72" on the college station WTMD (the last bastion of music in Baltimore/DC) and was drawn in by the vocal sound and memorable hook. Had to check out the rest!

Kudos for interesting songwriting and really solid recording and production! The big 90s sound is great (though maybe could have used a little break here and there).
