  1. Dreamkiller
    by Sumerlands
  2. Phantoma
    by Unleash The Archers
Ghosts In The Mist Ghosts In The Mist
Brittney and co. are killing it. I've only heard two tracks from this upcoming album, but damn, they're GOOD!
Apex and Abyss are my two favorite albums of the last 15 years.
If Phantoma turns out to be anywhere near as solid, it's going to be in my top 10 of all time. I'm eagerly awaiting the full release.
  3. Volume I
    by Sons of Arrakis
The Black Mirror The Black Mirror
“Bless the Maker and His water.
Bless the coming and going of Him.
May His passage cleanse the world.
May He keep the world for His people.”
  4. The Winterlight Chronicles
    by Fellowship
  5. The Saberlight Chronicles
    by Fellowship
    Glint Glint
Fellowship are an incredible, young power metal band out of the UK.
Their tunes are catchy, melodies bright and fun, instruments played with virtuosity, and vocals soaring and strong.
2022 has been an excellent year for metal releases, and Fellowship's The Saberlight Chronicles is right up near the top of that list.
  6. Valdis Story: Abyssal City - Dark Side of the Abyss
    by Zack Parrish
  7. Valdis Story: Abyssal City
    by Zack Parrish
Zack Parrish created a phenomenal soundtrack for this game. I place it up with some of the greatest OSTs: Zelda OoT, Super Metroid, Castlevania SotN, Chrono Trigger, and Shovel Knight. He really knocked it out of the park.

As with any good OST, it's great for listening while playing the game or as a standalone product.
  8. UNICORN
    by GUNSHIP
Ghost (feat. Power Glove) Ghost (feat. Power Glove)
Gunship has no right putting out an album this fucking good. How dare they!

On Ghost, I love the chill vibes alongside building tension and crescendos with crooning vocals.
  9. Shadow Of A Fallen Star Pt.1
    by Seven Sisters
    Horizon's Eye Horizon's Eye
This entire album screams with homage to traditional heavy metal. Obvious influence from the likes of Priest, Maiden, etc. shines through, with the group adapting to the modern in fantastic ways.

The crystal calls and I must go.
  10. Truth Killer
    by Sevendust
    Fence Fence
Sevendust returns with their unmistakable sound and tenacious beats. Bottoms up!
  11. The Dio Album
    by Paul Gilbert
    Holy Diver Holy Diver
Paul Gilbert is so incredibly virtuous on guitar, he actually makes his axe sing as if it were Ronnie James Dio, himself, reincarnated.
The man is legendary, covering legendary songs, resulting in a legendary album.
  12. Immortal's Requiem
    by Phantom Spell
Seven Sided Mirror Seven Sided Mirror
Immortal's Requiem is a brilliant album. Its prog & rock roots are clearly evident, paying strong homage without getting masturbatory about it.

I just love it and hope you do too!
  13. ABANAMAT
    by ABANAMAT
    Djinn Djinn
I drove through the French Alps listening to this, it was an unforgettable experience.
  14. Towers of Gold
    by Sacred Outcry
Symphony of the Night (The Curse of the Blind) Symphony of the Night (The Curse of the Blind)
Fuck me, this is good! It's exactly the sort of music I imagine when I think "power metal," yet it's not rote, boring, or predictable.

Daniel Heiman on vocals is such a powerhouse, perfectly matching the intensity of the songwriting and instrumentation.
  15. IV: Sacrament
    by Wytch Hazel
Angel of Light Angel of Light
Wytch Hazel's uncluttered melodies, punctuated by beautiful drumming and powerful harmonies (both vocal and instrumental) are truly something to enjoy. Their inspirations are on their shirt sleeves, musically and spiritually.

The pre-chorus on Angel of Light contains masterful use of chromatic walkdowns, where the lyrics are "Fallen again, when will it end?" This feels like a modernized--and extremely welcome--nod to the great, early heavy metal work of Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.
  16. Ridge And Furrow
    by Dark Forest
    Skylark Skylark
What an amazingly fun, uplifting, and inspiring introduction to this album! "Skylark" captured me from the first moment I'd heard it, and the rest of the album continues to evoke all sorts of interesting feelings and memories.
